Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman from America. She co-founded The Corcoran Group, a real estate brokerage located in New York City, which she sold to NRT for $66 million in 2001 and shortly after, she left the company. Corcoran was a participant in 12 of ABC's Shark Tank seasons. In February 2020, Corcoran had made 53 deals, with the largest being a $350,000 deal that was able to cover 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was the second child of 10 children born to an Irish-Catholic couple working in the middle class in Edgewater, New Jersey.  Her mother, Florence, was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He moved between jobs and the next throughout Corcoran's youth. The family relied on food delivered by a friendly local grocer for free food. Corcoran is still able to remember her father as someone who was drunk occasionally and was rude to her mother. Corcoran struggled through her schooling before discovering that she was dyslexic. Corcoran began high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood following her departure from her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran was proficient in a variety of classes during her freshman year. She transferred to Leonia High School and graduated with a grade of D.
